KCMQG Retreat Weekend

March 30 – April 1 was the retreat weekend for the Kansas City Modern Quilt Guild. It was sooo much fun!!!! We arrived around noon on that Friday the 30th at the Springhill Suites in Lawrence. 28 of us filled up the large ballroom.

We all took lots of pictures! There was tons of food, lots of laughs and lots of sewing!

I finished four blocks for my Block of the Month with my Sew-n-Sews group (the fifth in the photo was already done):

Made a purse using Parson Gray fabric on the outside and Ty Pennington on the inside. Thought that was funny – using two male-design fabrics for a purse 🙂

And, finished the back to the Skull quilt, basted it, and started quilting! Sorry, no pictures of that one yet…

We also went shopping and I went a little overboard at Jock’s Nitch buying tshirts to support my beloved Jayhawks who were in the Final Four:

Saw this sign on our travels (I love The Princess Bride!) :

And met my bro for coffee:

A few of us watched the KU vs Ohio State Final Four game in a hotel room. Then WHEN KU WON!!!!!!!! we went down to Mass street to check out the madness!

With all the shopping, eating, and screaming for KU that we did that weekend, it’s amazing we got so much sewing done! But we did, and it was a great weekend!

Let’s do it again next year!
