Heard of this book? Then you’re pretty cool. It was number 1 on the NY Times bestseller list for Combined eBook and Print sales. If you haven’t heard of it, you are totally missing out. ‘Cause Jenny is awesome. And funny. And has a picture of Whil Wheaton collating paper. Yeah, you have to check that out.
So I opened this book on Saturday, May 12, late afternoon-ish. I finished it Sunday morning, May 13th. I DID also manage to sleep a few hours Saturday night. Jenny’s story is captivating, skewed, and so hilarious although in some places you are laughing when you really shouldn’t be laughing. Jenny’s storytelling methods are crazily inappropriate, but completely true to her. And obviously, I could not put it down. I think that rat on the cover glued it to my hands. Here’s my favorite review of her book:
“The Bloggess writes stuff that actually is laugh-out-loud, but you know that really you shouldn’t be laughing and probably you’ll go to hell for laughing, so maybe you shouldn’t read it. That would be safer and wiser.”
-Neil Gaiman
But seriously, you should read it. Go here now to get it. And then read her blog.
*Disclaimer: Jenny did not pay me to write this post, though I totally would have if she asked. This review is my own and is not sponsored by anyone. Not even the rat.
